What to bring when you’re going luxury.

We’ve narrowed it down to the essentials. That said, there is so much to experience in Puerto Vallarta, remember to bring pieces you can mix easily and dress up or down. And don’t waste a second at baggage claim. If you’re a serial bag checker, we suggest doubling the items below, but we’re all about options. Here’s the short list:

1. Swimsuits and breezy cover-ups, for gliding from shoreline to cocktails

2. Tanks, tees, and shorts. (We’re always happy to have a few choices of casual clothes for outdoor adventuring and city wandering.) 

3. Casual dresses or trousers, for lingering poolside lunches or a day in town

4. Formal dress, or two depending on how long you stay—for special events, date nights, and dinners out. Guys, think polos and collared shirts, with extra tees for everyday

5. Casual sandals (and flip-flop, too) for beach and beyond

6. Dressed-up slingbacks and evening bag—back to those nights out. Guys, think canvas slip-ons, loafers, boat shoes

7. Beach tote and sun hat

8. Water bottle

9. Sunglasses

10. Waterproof smartphone holder—known for saving the lives of countless iPhones, Androids and more

P.S. For cooler nights you may want a light sweater or denim jacket that pairs with your dresses or pants.
